We’ve painted the Cow Shed ceilings!

After what seems like weeks, we’ve finally finished painting the ceilings and the little cupboard in the Cow Shed (bar the bathroom that is still full of random building supplies). It’s great to feel like we’re making a bit more progress – so we celebrated by buying the wall paint for the main living area ready for next weekend! For some reason we’re struggling to make a decision on the colours in the Cow Shed – partly because we’re trying not to replicate our own house and still keep a similar cow shed style. I feel a week scrolling Pinterest coming on!

As we have a few free weekends ahead of us we’ve decided to spend one day painting and one day in the garden in an attempt to keep things somewhat under control. John’s cleared more of our bonfire pile and we’ve started clearing the weeds in the kitchen garden. We’d hoped to spend all Sunday doing this but finishing the changeover after our last guests took most of the morning so we only got out for a few hours. Still – we’ve taken down the vegetable bed covers so it’s easier to clear the beds and managed to pot up more of our seedlings and plant a few more seeds. We’re so far behind – some of these seeds should have been planted out in February and March, and we’re now well into April. Perhaps with the lighter evenings we can catch up…

The kitchen for the Cow Shed arrived this week – typically on the hottest day so far! The delivery drivers didn’t want to drive into our yard so I helped the two of them bring everything in from outside the gate and into the Old Barn for storage. Seriously sweaty work! I managed to find a couple of ice-creams in the freezer – they were so grateful! I decided it wouldn’t be fair to take a photo of them after such hard work though!

  1. With all those seedlings you will have bumper veg crop from the look of it. I hope you have lots of spare freezer space.
