It’s starting to come together….

While our evenings this week have mostly been taken up with continuing the peeling, chopping and freezing process of our windfall apples and pears, we finally had an exciting delivery Friday evening – and just in time too. Our first guest bed arrived!! No longer do we have empty bedrooms, but both top floor rooms are starting to look more like real rooms and less like the dog’s playroom!!!

As we’re planning to do some minor building work to open out the ceilings on the top floor, we’re intentionally not fully furnishing the rooms until this has been done. But our willing army of volunteers means we do need to be able sleep them somewhere. And having beds really does make a difference!! So that we can offer room flexibility in future, we chose a zip and link bed, so we can easily split one bed between two singles and a double, and accommodate different groups of visitors.

And – for those reading our earlier posts – the time spent planning bedding was worth it! All the longer single bedding fits, and the super-king-size bedding has been packed away until next weekend. It may be a while before we can decorate and properly furnish, but it certainly feels like things are coming together…

  1. Top floor bedrooms look so good now they have beautifully made up beds in situ! We so enjoyed our stay at Ley Farm with you last weekend! Keep up the good work you two! Xx
