Daisy’s Dairy
Daisy’s Dairy is located at one of the local farms and sells a range of produce including fresh milk, milkshakes with different flavour syrups, chutneys and Ley Farm damson jam, delicious pork products from our local Cleave Farm, and ice-creams. It’s well worth a visit. We recommend driving to avoid walking along the A30 (albeit it’s a short walk). Dogs should stay in cars if possible as this is a working farm with animals in close proximity.
You’ll find four milk bottles in the kitchen corner cupboard by the sink. Please feel free to use these while you’re here.
You can find more information on their facebook page here.

Teas and Creams 🐶

Teas and Creams is a new locally owned tea room just outside Axminster with beautiful views across the Axe Valley. It’s dog friendly, baby friendly, and offers a delicious range of cakes and refreshments. If you head to Axminster (or beyond) to explore, we strongly recommend a visit. Check out their opening hours on facebook here.
Otter Valley Ice Cream & Field Kitchen 🐶
Otter Valley Kitchen is located on the A303 towards Honiton. It specialises in ice-creams but also offers light lunches and has plenty of parking. Dogs are welcome outside; as it is located on the side of the valley it can get a little windy so we recommend taking coats if not a sunny still day.
You can find more information on their website here.
Millers Farm Shop
Millers Farm Shop is just outside Axminster and is pretty famous! It offers a wide range of fresh and deli-style food, including several locally produced items. They grow seasonal vegetables on site and the owners often take trips to France to bring back new cheese and other produce to sell.
The site also has a few lunch options outside – dogs are welcome outside but cannot go into the shop.
Their website gives more information here.
Barleymows Farm Shop
Barleymows is located on the A30 towards Chard and offers a range of locally produced and grown food, as well as plenty of farm-related products including a wide range of toy tractors!
In the summer months it has a Maize Maze to try out and see if you can escape from! Find out more on their website.

Located in the next village along, Dalwood Vineyard was created by a group of locals one evening in the pub. It now produces award-winning sparkling, white, and rose wine. You can book tours of the vineyard in advance – these are hosted by the very-engaging and entertaining Mike – one of the original founders of the vineyard. You can walk to Dalwood from Ley Farm Cottages – it’s about 4.5 miles to walk (allow a couple of hours). We recommend walking home at least to make the most of the wine tasting!
Dalwood Vineyard is dog friendly and the Tuckers Arms in Dalwood is also dog friendly and does good food (check opening times).
To book, visit their website.
The Pig at Combe
The Pig at Combe is well known for their high-end restaurant. They work with local suppliers and grow their own food too, and the menu changes regularly based on what’s available / seasonal. Unfortunately the Pig restaurants are not dog friendly.
You can find more information on their website here
High Grange
Eating at High Grange is a unique experience. They host high-end feasts throughout the year in their woodland location, usually under a large tent unless the weather is bad. They describe themselves as ‘high-end catering’ and they really don’t spare any expense. If you love special eating experiences then their website is definitely worth checking out. They also offer takeaways and run cooking school days intermittently.
You can sign up to their mailing list for a 10% discount, and sometimes they offer local discounts so let us know if you’re interested in attending and we can check what’s available. They are located just outside Dalwood.
River Cottage
River Cottage opened a new kitchen just outside of Axminster at the River Cottage HQ in 2022. They offer a range of dining events throughout the year, as well as cooking and other courses. Make sure you check on their website in advance as all events need to be prebooked.
